The invasion of Poland
The invasion of Poland (a.k.a September Campaign or 1939 defensive war) was the invasion of Poland by Germany, Soviet Union and a small market of Slovak contingent. The Germans began their invasion on September 1st 1939 while the Soviet invasion began on September 17th 1939. One of the main reasons Germany invade Poland was because they wanted to expand their land to the east and after WWI they believed they were entitled to the land. The Soviets invade Poland because they wanted to travel through Poland to transport weapons and other military technology and necessity. Poland was attacked from the west by Germany and from the east by Soviet Union. The campaign ended October 6th 1939 with Germany and Soviet Union splitting and annexing Poland.
